The Stanley Hotel
Request room number 217. It was in this room that Stephen King, inspired by the hotel, wrote half of "The Shining." Room 418 is said to experience the most ghostly activity; in fact, the entire fourth floor, the former servants quarters, is said to be active. Children's laughter and sounds of children playing in the hallways can often be heard. The hotel's original ownners, F.O. and Flora Stanley, are believed to haunt The Stanley as well.
