Dub Sinister: Signal-to-Noise Ratio
Many of Dub Sinister's songs deal with the supernatural. Founder and Grand Architect Tate Hemlock is an amateur ghost hunter whose greatest passion outside of music is horror films and literature. Many of Dub Sinister's songs have been influenced by films like "Night of the Living Dead" or authors like Theodore Sturgeon and Philip K. Dick. Dub Sinister’s unique synthesis of electronic sounds, haunting guitar, urban beats and dub production techniques challenges the listener through the introduction of familiar and contemporary sounds in a brand new setting. Dub Sinister’s music has been described as both “insidious disco” and “electronic lounge music with dark, rock twists”. One thing is certain; Dub Sinister’s music is eclectic, colorful and visual – sometimes spooky, oftentimes beautiful but always highly inventive and utterly original.
